We offer a comprehensive service, drawing on design, publishing events, marketing expertise where needed, as well as trusts, foundations and individuals funding.

Rachel Wiseman - Director

Rachel brings over 20 years of diverse conservation and development knowledge, starting her career as a conservation geneticist in South Africa, before moving back to Europe to work with IUCN at a pan-European level. In 2002 Rachel became a freelance international development and organisational effectiveness advisor. She has since worked across the EU, East and southern Africa, South Asia, China and the Pacific with NGOs, governments, research organisations and SMEs.

Rachel advises and mentors organisations on all aspects of programme success, from exploring the feasibility of institutional partnerships, to smart and feasible programme design and monitoring, through  to evaluation of success, reflective learning and adaptation. Rachel has an excellent success rate of proposal development with donors including DFID, the EC, NZAID and USAID.

Julie Thomas has 20 years experience of building shared understanding amongst communities, governments and business of the value of nature to our well-being.  Living and working in East and Southern Africa, Julie’s work has ranged from addressing resource scarcity issues at a local level, through to influencing the policy and practices of governments, private sector and civil society. Julie has a strong commitment to people-led development and a natural ability for listening, diplomacy and negotiation - this allows her to understand the people and issues at the heart of her work and support positive change.

Deborah Nicholls is proficient at securing and managing institutional funding, achieving excellent success rates and building best practice approaches. She has worked with research and international NGOs for over 20 years, with eight years at a senior manager level. Key expertise includes programme development, training and capacity building. With significant experience of facilitating the design and delivery of multi-stakeholder programmes, she has contributed to securing over £40m in her career.

Niall Watson is a highly skilled NGO environmental and campaigns lawyer with a 30 year history of engagement in human rights and corporate responsibility agendas. He has direct experience of policy and advocacy work at the national and international level, involving both government and the corporate sector. Key campaigns areas include climate change, forests, EU nature directives, Virunga National Park, Tar Sands, illegal timber, chemicals and health, export credits, illegal wildlife trade, inequality, arms sales and company law.
