International development strategic support

“The insights and knowledge that Rachel was able to draw on really helped me to work through some complex questions and gain a real insight into government funding. She’s also great to work with, going above and beyond the brief to bring together threads from different areas of work.

Renewable World UK

Facilitate the development of an institutional funding model for Renewable World, looking at their strategies and ambitions, and how these align with different UK and international development agencies. Help Renewable World to test their boundaries and models of working to ensure that the organisation works within its core strategy and approach while recognising the need to respond to international targets and donor strategies .

Alliance for Religions and Conservation (ARC)

Strengthen ARC's understanding of the focus and priorities of specific development agencies. Explain the changing emphasis of target donors and what they are looking to demonstrate. Help ARC to articulate their objectives so that they resonate clearly with the donor's strategy. Re-focus monitoring processes so ARC and partners will be able to monitor and collect a sound evidence base to demonstrate transformational change and impact on people's lives and well-being without disproportionate emphasis on monitoring and evaluation.

Moringa Miracles Ltd (MML)

Help a small SME with new development funding to understand the principles around development funding, and the global critique around the private sector in development that they will need to combat (not delivering for the poor). The support builds MML capacity to appreciate what they will be expected to deliver, how to measure and monitor their impact on target groups, and the need for a sound baseline and SMART indicators.

WWF UK Water Stewardship Programme

Scope public sector funding opportunities for international Water Stewardship work and build understanding about international development and the changing funding landscape. The study focused on the opportunity to move away from project-by-project funding through calls for proposals, to explore opportunities for strategic engagement with development agencies, towards a programmatic partnerships in collaboration with businesses.

WWF UK Programmes and Fundraising Divisions

Following internal restructure, advise WWF UK on the effectiveness of their new strategy for international development. The research involved interviewing programme heads and directors to understand their needs and opportunities. Gaps in capacity were identified and recommendations provided, to enhance the strategic opportunities for public sector partnerships and proposal development.
